I am a teaching artist at Cayuga ISD. I teach 6th-8th grade art along with Art I-IV. This year is an exciting year because I have restructured my entire curriculum. In the past, each level of art would work on different projects and concepts, at the same time. Now, I've streamlined my classes into thematic units based on the timeline of art. All classes will recieve the same theme and background information for each unit. Then, each class will have individual assignments based on the TEKS for their level of art. This is exciting news because I can focus more attention on the art history and contemporary artists that share a specific theme.
